An Actress's Take on All-Things-Screen

Paterson

If you want to see anything at the cinema this week, please watch Paterson. The latest Jim Jarmusch film starring Adam Driver as the title character. A fast-paced, plot driven story it is not. But a humble, sweet, honest watch it is. And this is why it is one of my favourite films I have watched this year.

The acting, the stillness, the touches of quirkiness draw you in. Along with the acting of Driver and Golshifteh Farahani who plays his doting wife, Laura. It is an important piece to see. Noting the repetition and humdrum of daily life. And the little incidents happening on the way and how these affect us.

Have you seen anything this week? Perhaps Fantastic Beasts? (I can’t say I was overly thrilled about this one – but I can understand how it would appeal to the masses).

Please let me know what you have enjoyed recently. There are so many exciting things to look out for on both the big and small screens. Watch this space.
